I hold a Master of Social Science (Human Services Counselling), with experience across mental health, community services and therapeutic work with children, young people, adults and families.
My work has involved supporting people experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional distress, trauma, relationship difficulties and complex life circumstances.
How I work
I approach counselling with warmth, curiosity and respect. Some people come with something specific they want to work through; others need time and space to understand how they are feeling. We begin wherever you are, without pressure to have everything worked out or to know what to say.
What I can support you with
- Anxiety, worry and overthinking
- Depression and low mood
- Stress, burnout and feeling overwhelmed
- Grief and loss
- Trauma and difficult past experiences
- Self-esteem, confidence and self-criticism
- Relationship difficulties and communication
- Setting and maintaining boundaries
- Life changes, uncertainty and adjustment
- Understanding and managing emotions
- Developing coping strategies
A trauma-informed approach
My practice is trauma-informed, drawing on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), attachment theory and polyvagal-informed approaches. Sessions may involve talking through experiences, making sense of patterns or finding practical ways to manage difficult thoughts and emotions. How we work together depends on your needs and what feels helpful to you.
