Victorian Hypnosis and Counselling

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains, in plain English, how we handle your personal information.

Victorian Hypnosis and Counselling is run by Natalie Nasr as a sole trader (ABN 84 865 082 465) at 62 Wellington Parade, East Melbourne VIC 3002. As a health service, we handle personal and health information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). In Victoria, the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic) may also apply.

What we collect

We only collect the information we need to respond to you and provide our services. This may include:

Please don't include sensitive health details in our website form or in a first email. We can talk about these privately once you contact us.

Why we collect it

We use your information to reply to your enquiry, book and manage appointments, provide safe and appropriate care, keep clinical notes, issue invoices and meet our legal and professional obligations. We will not sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing.

Our website form

Messages sent through the forms on this website are delivered to our inbox by Web3Forms, a third-party form service. Web3Forms processes your name, email, phone number and message so it can send them to us, and may store this information on servers outside Australia. Please keep form messages brief and general.

Who we share it with

We keep your information confidential. We only share it with your consent (for example, with your GP or another health professional), or where the law requires or allows it, such as when there is a serious threat to someone's life, health or safety.

How we store and protect it

We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, including password protected systems and secure storage of any paper records. We keep health records for as long as the law requires, then destroy or de-identify them securely.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. Just email us at [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. In rare cases the law allows us to refuse access, and if so we will explain why.

Anonymity

You can make a general enquiry without giving your full name. To provide ongoing care, we will need to know who you are.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please contact us first at [email protected] and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
